We're delighted to welcome Rebecca Wagner to the Woodsmith Foundation team.

We asked Rebecca, who will be our Grants & Programmes Officer, a few questions to find out more about her.

Tell us a bit about yourself? (where you’re from / previous experience / what you get upto away from work / family etc etc)

I grew up in Lancashire, moving to the Redcar and Cleveland area when I was 21. I have two young children (three if you count my husband!). Away from work I juggle travelling the country participating in motorsports alongside mine and my children's social calendars!

Interesting fact about you?

I won my wedding! I entered a competition in 2021 and fundraised over £1,800 for a local charity which entered myself and my husband into a prize draw and resulted in us winning our wedding day.

What inspired you to join the Woodsmith Foundation team?

I have vast experience in senior administration and found myself looking for a job with a purpose. There are lots of similarities between my home town and our areas of benefit with them both facing similar socio-economic challenges. I am passionate about helping others and after researching the amazing work the foundation facilitates, I knew I needed to be grab this amazing opportunity with both hands.

What will you be doing in your new role?

My role as a Grants & Programmes Officer is to be the first point of contact for all small grant enquiries and applications ensuring the process runs smoothly. I work along side the team to facilitate the work they do in the community providing them with any support they may require.

What excites you about joining the Foundation team?

I am really looking forward to working with a great team helping to enable our local people make positive steps in the places they live.
